at the cemetary 02 by nostromo426 at the cemetary 02 by nostromo426
so i finally decided to put up a second picture of the
cemetary in hamburg ("at the cemetary 01"). i don't
know if the woman in the middle is the mother of the
two other beings or not. the one on the left already
seems dead, or she has lost consciousness, the one
on the right still seems to be alive. hm... i really don't
know why such a statue can be found on a grave-
yard, but it definitely adds an extra mood to this all.

This is really interesting and errie. I've never seen a statue like this at a cemetary before.

very eerie, different times, different feelings to what the statues meant.

what an amazing statue! I get the feeling the woman in the middle isn't helping the other two....do you remember what is carved at the base...?

i actually think she is draging the other two ones. just don't know where to,
of where from. i've been there in 2007, i don't remember what might be carved
at the base. sorry.

Great picture! The atmosphere is really eerie. I'd agree with your interpretation of its meaning. The middle figure's exposed breasts seem to point towards some kind of motherhood and the way she'sholding the other two looks like she's dragging her children to be punished. The female figure looks slumped in resignation while the male is protesting at least somewhat. Well, that's my take on things. Is it over someone's grave or is there a plaque on it?

thanks for your comment!

unfortunately i don't know what this statue
was for. it was a little seperated from the rest
of the mausoleums and other statues that
were nearby. from what i have seen, there was
no inscription or plaque.

Oh my. Was a gruesome picture. Absolutely love the background and the setting of the sky! ^^ If it were any other weather, it wouldn't have as much of an effect on the picture as it does.
